  1. What is a Public Record?

    Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 239.091 defines a public record as a record of a local governmental entity that is created received or kept in the performance of a duty and paid for with public money.

  4. What is the process for obtaining copies of plans and documents?

    All though Clark County is not required to maintain copies past their adopted retention requirements, Clark County has chosen to keep our records indefinitely.  All of the records maintained by the County are available for viewing via the Department of Development Services web site.

    * (Note: Registered materials i.e. plans, engineering documents are not available on-line) you can schedule using our
    On-Line Inspection Scheduling, the automated phone system by calling 702-455-3000, or talk to Inspection Division Staff.

  5. How do I get a copy of Plans and Registered documents?

    Prior to producing and releasing any copies of registered material (stamped and sealed) prepared by architects, engineers, contractors, or other design professionals, authorization/permission must be obtained from the design professional and provided to the Records Office.  Although public document records are available for public viewing, reproduction of registered material must follow established guidelines which require an original letter on the design professional's stationery signed by the original design professional or an officer/representative of the firm/company indicating their permission to release copies of specific documents on file with the Records Department.  Please contact the records office for identification of the design professional at 702-455-3000 option “7”.  The following will guide you to the design professionals information.

  6. How long does it take to fulfill my records request?

    Various records requests may be processed by staff at the front counter; however many records requests require the efforts of a dedicated staff member to perform the research and reproduction.  Also, the Development Services Record staff receives an average of 5 to 10 subpoena requests per month, which typically involves a substantial research and reproduction effort.  Subpoena requests take precedence as they have time sensitive requirements.  Some records may not be immediately available based on the imaging process.

  7. How do I obtain a Planning Commission agenda?

    An agenda/front sheets may be obtained at the Current Planning customer service counter.  You may subscribe to receive these by mail.  There is a pro-rated fee for this service, check with Current Planning at (702) 455-4314 use option “2” and then option “1” to speak to a Planner.  Agendas are also available on the Comprehensive Planning web site Planning & Zoning Meeting Agendas and Notices of Final Action.

  8. Who enforces my CC & R’s?

    CC & R’s are put in place by the developer of the subdivision.  Clark County does not enforce CC & R’s.  They are enforced through your Home Owner’s Association (HOA).  If you do not have an HOA, they are enforced through the court system.  You may also contact the Clark County Recorders office for recorded CC & R’s.

  9. Where can I purchase a copy of the Title 30 Development Code Book?

    You may purchase the Title 30 Development Code at the Current Planning desk located at the Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas, NV.  See adopted Title 30 Fee Schedule.  Quarterly updates are available for a fee, check with Current Planning for the amount.  The Title 30 Development Code is also available to view online.

  10. What is the zoning classification of my property and the zoning regulations for development?

    To obtain the current zoning classification and regulations governing the development and use of property, contact Current Planning at (702) 455-4314 use option "2" and then option "1" to speak to a Planner.

    To check the zoning on a specific parcel of property, you will need an address or an assessor’s parcel number.  Parcel number may be obtained by calling (702)455-3882 or by visiting Clark County's OpenWeb Info Mapper.

  11. How do I file an application to the Planning Commission for a variance for the Zoning or Landscape regulations?

    To file an application to the Planning Commission, contact Current Planning between the hours or 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Speak to a Planner regarding processing information, application requirements and fees at (702) 455-4314 use option "2" and then option "1".

  12. Where can I purchase a copy of a zoning map for my neighborhood?

    Current zoning maps are available at the Current Planning counter. Costs start at $20.00 (US).
